At Tolivar, we understand the unique needs of commercial farmers. Colin himself a 5th generation cattleman with 15 years experience in the dairy industry and 25 years commercial cattle breeding, prior to the commencement of the stud in 2018. With the introduction of irrigation on both of our properties and continual use of intensive rotational grazing we run a high stocking rate for both the stud and commercial herds. The cattle have to be able to perform under commercial conditions to ensure the relevance of the genetics to the commercial beef sector.
Our cattle are renowned for their structure, type, and performance, ensuring that our clients can sell at various age grades throughout the supply chain. With a strong focus on quality, our cattle consistently grade well at meat processing companies, meeting the demands of both our clients and the market. CLUDEN NEWRY UPPERCUT U15
Uppercut has been identified as one of the most complete bulls to be bred on Australian soil who recently sold for a Tasmanian record $275,000, has sold 3000 straws with another 3000 straws on order! That's over half a million dollars worth of semen prior to his sale! Tolivar were fortunate to purchase 10 straws in spring 2024 and currently have 12 live calves due spring 2025 expecting to be some of the first calves of Uppercut on the ground within Australia! We secured another 90 straws for embryos and mating. Uppercut seamlessly blends phenotype and genotype with one of the most powerful data profiles in recent times and sets a new benchmark for modern day Angus breeders. Uppercut brings soft skin, extra muscle shape with a long and deep body to the table. He stands on solid feet with a strong depth of heel. With one of the most modern and impactful data profiles, Uppercut excels in offering breeders a unique blend of functionality, power, and genetic value.
TOLIVAR TORIN T32
Torin T32 has excellent balance across almost all EBV's, ranking better than average for 19 main traits including Calving Ease Direct, Dtrs, GL, all growth and Fertility EBV's, Carcase WT, EMA and RBY. He ranks in the top 20% for ALL Selection Index traits and exhibits impeccable docility. A Baldridge Beastmode B074 son out of a very strong maternal 'Pono' Dam line. Currently weighing over 1100kgs. Torin is also part of the Cohort 15 Programme and has progeny on the ground already and are excited to see the data start to be released about this program throughout the year. Torin has grown into a sire that has great structure, excellent claw, feet and leg structure along with the EBV's to breed great cattle for the future.
